THE KARDASHIANOLOGIST
ABOUT
Hey you!

My name is Imane El Aoufi. I am a writer, feminist researcher, and analyst known as The Kardashianologist.

Why the Kardashianologist?
The Kardashians sparked my interest in 2010, when the fifth season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired. Getting an inside look into this crazy, rich and fabulous family got me ob-sessed with the show (bible, I couldn’t stop watching).

When I started my Bachelor's in Communication in 2016, my whole view on the Kardashians changed. I loved using the theories I learned at school as a tool to understand how the media works and influences our society. And so I did: I started to apply different media theories to the reality show and the family’s own content.

Finishing my Master's in Media, Culture & Society inspired me to dive deeper into my research and look further than what these media theories explain. Because, guess what? The Kardashians have a large community, but so do other media platforms...

I aim to understand how the media contributes to the image of the Kardashians, how the Kardashians and the media have a cultural impact, and how our modern society understands the messages advocated by the Kardashians and the media.
Are you ready to dive into this Krazy world with me?
